Summer Ceilidh - August

Date: 11th July 2012

Devonvale Hall Dance floor   

Plans are being finalised for our Ceilidh on Saturday 18th August at the Devonvale hall in Tillicoultry. We will soon have tickets on sale. We've had a lot of interest already to reserve tickets so don't wait to buy when tickets go on sale. It's going to be a great night.

We are also organising 2 warm-up Ceilidh dance sessions in the weeks before the actual night of the Ceilidh to get the kids ready-to-go! One held by Central Twins & Multiples SG and the other held by Tillicoultry Toddlers. Details of these events will be posted later.

Here are some details about the night:

  • Date: 18th Aug Saturday 6-10pm
  • Venue: Devonvale Hall, Tillicoultry
  • Ticketed event, 200 seats
  • Opening entertainment, doors open 6pm
  • 10 piece band with caller and extra on floor dance "helper"
  • Open to all
  • Family friendly, from kids to grandparents
  • Some fun kid friendly activities throughout the night
  • Other little bits and bobs
  • Bar
  • During Interval:
    • Food served
    • Raffle draw (Great prizes!)
    • Mini-concert from local kids

As part of the Tillicoultry Community Week and in association with Tillicoultry Toddlers, we are excited to announce that we are having a family friendly Ceilidh on Saturday 18th August. We still have some details to finalise but thought you might like to know ahead of time. We'd like to make this a very family affair so feel free to include grandparents and friends in your invites.

Baby signing class

Date: 27th June 2012

We will be holding a baby signing class at our group on Tuesday 10th July 2012. Our group will run as usual but this event is open to anyone with babies (with or without twins or multiples). So come and join our group for the morning, 10am - 12 and get a taste for baby signing.

Upcoming event - Day at the beach

Date: 27th June 2012

It's holiday time! and we're planning a day out to the beach this year again. So to "guarantee" the weather we will once again hold off setting a date until about a week before so keep checking our website for information.

We will be opening this event up to families outside our group (donation £3), so if you plan to come, feel free to invite a friend to come along too.

As before we will have a "room" on the beach as our meeting place and to contain the very little ones. This was highly effective the last time. So if you're planning on coming, hunt out your wind breakers (soon) to bring them along to make our "room" bigger.

We Won!

We won the prize for the "Best Dressed Stall" today at the Tillicoultry Gala! Thank you so much to everyone who helped to make our stall possible, for your baking, donations, and help at the stall.

All in all it was a fun day even with the weather.

Tilly Gala - What's for sale on our stall?

We are going to post the details of any second hand items we receive for sale on this website before Sunday 17th June. So if you are looking for anything in particular you'll know if it's available at our stall.

Tilly Gala update - Sun. 17th June

Date: 6th June 2012

In an effort to raise awareness of our group we are participating in the Tillicoultry Gala on Sun. 17th June. It's running in Tilly at the Alva end of town in the Public Park. It's a great day out for all the family, with lots of stalls, and entertainment.

We need your help:

  1. On-the-day, Sunday 17th June: We really need your help to run the stall on the day of the Gala. Please let us know if you'd be free for an hour any time from 12-1pm (for set-up) or 1-2pm, 2-3pm, 3-4pm, 4-5pm (for sales). Please contact us as soon as you can with the timeslot you prefer if you can help in this way.

    We need to share this commitment.

  2. Home-baking: We need home-baking - let us know if you can make us anything. There is a how-to for how we would like to receive your baking, to keep it simple and consistent. We'd prefer to receive home-baking delivered on Saturday 16th to Caroline's in Tilly.

  3. Raffle prizes: We need raffle prizes, anything from a bottle of something to a voucher for a service (please feel free to ask businesses on our behalf, if you're good at that sort of thing). Please let us know if you do approach a business so we don't do it too.

  4. 2nd hand items: In particular we need second hand toys, books, and equipment (bath mats, toddler booster seats, prams, etc.) for sale at our stall. Please make sure these are clean, and ready for sale. We will advertise what we have received on this website. So anyone looking out for something will know what'll be available at the start of the sale at our stall.

    AND MOST IMPORTANTLY ...

  5. Visit our stall on the day. A presence of lots of people with twins and triplets would make it more fun.

Ever find yourself wondering if your kids feet have grown and you just want a quick check? Well now you can do that check! Come and use our new feet measuring gauges at our group.

Visit to the farm in July

We are visiting a working farm in July. There'll be ponies, pigs, chickens, goats and much more. For more information see our activity page. Please RSVP so we can confirm numbers.

Adult Health Checks - 24th August

Date: 30th May 2012

We are offering free adult health checks on Friday 24th August 2012.

We ran a similar event last year and it was highly successful. This will not disrupt normal activities at the group, so if this isn't for you that's fine.

The health checks would take about 15 minutes, at a specific appointment time, and would be carried out in a small private room next to the main hall. Your kids would just continue playing in the main hall (or if you prefer, be with you in the room), and you'd just have to assign another parent to look after them while you're away. I'd (Caroline) be happy to supervise any kids while a parent is having these checks done.

The health checks will include: Blood pressure, heart rate, lung capacity, hip to waist ratio, body mass index, body fat percentage, weight, flexibility check and a hand grip test.

If this event is as popular as the last time, we will run a second session on an alternate day and time as we did before.
